4 day School Week Survey

Carbon County School District One Parents & Community Members:

The Rawlins campus principals of our District are wanting to move to a 4 day work week to match with Little Snake River Valley. There are many reasons for this, primarily because of the activity/athletic schedule that produces multiple absences for teachers and students. Another main reason is that Fridays can be a great intervention/enrichment day for our struggling and gifted students and our professional development schedules would match perfectly. There are much more considerations such as parents' work schedules, community buy-in, financial savings to the District, transportation/food service logistics, etc. However, do realize that LSRV is a top performing school in the State in academics and athletics, and they have a 4 day week that works very well. The Cooperative High School is also on a 4 day week and has seen growth and success these last few years. Please fill out this survey and we will investigate a 4 day week District-wide for the Board to examine thoroughly. Realize this survey does not mean we are implementing a 4 day week next year, but only in the investigative stages to see what works best for our students, staff, and community.

Thank you in advance for completing this survey and make it an awesome week!
