Carbon1 - Health Update from Superintendent 3/25/20

March 25, 2020

Hello, CCSD1 Parents/Guardians and Employees,

I am writing to communicate an update and to encourage certain behaviors.  The update very simply is there are now multiple confirmed positive cases of Covid-19 in Carbon County.  Due to this, and in accordance with previous communications from both the Governor and the State Health Officer, I am encouraging everyone to practice appropriate preventative measures by practicing social distancing, by washing your hands often, by not attending gatherings with 10 or more people, and to avoid touching your mouth, eyes, and nose.

The symptoms of Covid-19 are a fever, sore throat, dry cough, and shortness of breath.  Should you, or anyone in your family, develop symptoms, I would encourage you to consult with your health care provider as to the most appropriate next steps.

I want to thank all of you for your patience and cooperation during this pandemic.  I will be getting out a communication tomorrow or Friday about educational matters.

Sincerely,

Mike Hamel

Superintendent
