Carbon1 January 2019 - Teacher, Support Staff Member & Student Unsung Hero of the Month

Carbon1 January 2019 TEACHER of the MONTH:

Lucas is a Special Education Teacher at Rawlins High School, and it is his first year with the district, but not his first year teaching.  Lucas has established positive relationships with staff and students, has helped coach football, and has joined the Best Buddies program.  He has shown an eagerness to learn and models a positive attitude.  Lucas has been working with a struggling student, and because of the hard work they’ve both put in, this student has become more engaged and has greatly improved his grades since the beginning of the year.
Although he has only been with Carbon1 for a short time, he has already made a positive difference to both students and staff.  He has shown that he loves to be part of the school and is dedicated to helping students succeed.  Thank you, Lucas Johnston, for making such a positive impact and for your dedication to student success.  Your work is greatly appreciated!

Carbon1 January 2019 SUPPORT STAFF of the MONTH:

Laci is a paraprofessional at Little Snake River Valley, and she has been with Carbon1 since 2016.  Laci takes initiative in the classroom, assisting struggling students in the moment, but also reading and researching during her own time to find instructional tools to help students she works with.  Her love for children is evident in everything she does, such as buying a pair of gloves for each kindergarten student to leave at school so they would have gloves for recess every day.  She stepped in to help organize the holiday music program rehearsal when the music teacher was sick.  Laci also volunteers to help sponsor the Battle Mountain Mat Rats wrestling for kids.

Laci takes initiative, shows her love of students, works hard, and models a positive attitude.  Thank you, Laci Echard, for your dedication and hard work!  It is greatly appreciated!
