I have been involved and lived in Rawlins for over 25 years. My husband; Steve Nicholson, born and raised in Rawlins; and our four children have all attended schools in Rawlins. We are all committed to Rawlins and Carbon County and all its great possibilities that it all has to offer. We are active and enjoy outdoor sports, volunteering, and spending time at our Family Ranch. I believe in the unique possibilities of Carbon County School system. I believe that if we harness our small community values, our connections with the University, the variety of passions in our citizens, our youth, and our relevance to a growing business community, we will provide a positive and effective learning environment. (That will create the desire for our graduated youth to return to Rawlins.) I have served the district with “behind the scene” support. Being involved in many groups, committees throughout the years as a parent, classroom parent in the earlier years of my older children, strong member of PTA as a historian, and President and secretary, involved with PAC, volunteered in the elementary library, many years with Booster club, asked to assist on varies committees in the school district to assist with various acknowledgement of teachers, parents, and staff. I have seen and experienced some awesome improvements, and changes, and have enjoyed the opportunity to forward these experiences, and provide a positive support to the School Board when I was appointed in August 2013. We have an Awesome dedicated board. I care about public education as a citizen and a parent.
